SharePass place in the marketing industry

Being a marketing professional means taking substantial responsibility for the client’s data: sales, leads, brand awareness, marketing strategies, and more.

Our impact is significant when positioning the company on the market, creating budgets, and increasing the brand’s public awareness.

Before becoming a CMO of SharePass, I worked as a marketing specialist for some very known brands. I was not aware of the security footprint that marketing work creates. Daily I’ve dealt with client sensitive information like passwords, credentials, private notes, barcodes and other confidential information.

A lot of the confidential information mentioned above was shared with me via email, SMS or messenger. Furthermore, 95% of clients did not change their passwords when someone left the company, which creates a significant vulnerability as the information remains on the devices of the person who left; this leaves an open door to many sensitive and data critical accounts.

Sharing clients’ critical information via email, SMS or messenger is quite common but introduces some security risks.

When you share your password via email, SMS or messenger, it finds its way to a receiving device in clear text that anyone can read if they have access to your device. So, if you left the device unlocked or hacked or stolen, all this confidential data is becoming easily accessible.

As professionals who work with clients, our responsibility is to keep their information secure and confidential regardless of industry. Security is no longer a recommendation or a good to have feature; security is a must!

So how do we improve security using SharePass:

  • SharePass your passwords, PINs and confidential information
  • Avoid putting credentials in notes
  • Keep confidential data confidential

When sharing this information using SharePass, you create an expiring link, so the information does not remain readily accessible in the future. By doing this simple action, you are protecting your clients, keeping their data safe.

As a user, professional, client, director, executive, family member, or friend, Don’t risk it, SharePass it!
